We’re going through a period of both high structural and high cyclical unemployment. I think it makes perfect sense to expand our social safety net to confront these trying times.

Directing the money flow towards those at the bottom – and thus those most likely to spend the money – is also the most efficient way to stimulate aggregate demand and strengthen the economy while simultaneously weakening the incentive for those in need to turn to illegal methods of making their livelihood.

The 16th amendment lets the government tax your income. The ‘necessary and proper’ clause lets the government do essentially anything. Now then:

This is a good idea because being between jobs is a fact of life and people in that position need help to get back into doing something ‘economically productive’ (though there are certain jobs that I would classify as harmful to the economy).

Where in the Constitution does it allow for the Federal Government to confiscate money from taxpaying citizens to support non-taxpaying citizens for more than a year?

Where’s the text for the bill? There should be a summary as well.

Here's an idea i have for a "unity" type of party. A "metaparty" essentially. Our goal is to serve as an alternative to the plurality-based two party system, enabling the current alternative parties, as well as new ones, to function as "sub-parties". Our...

Freedom is only an illusion. Unless we get involved in the "core" of our government, our government will only superficially give us the freedoms it feels it needs to keep us docile. Even if the government needed to stage numerous parties in debates to feed our thirst they would still...
