@ dpic when you phrase things like this: “Medicare would be extended and improved” it shows favor. The word “improved” indicates superiority and by default, preference. I know this is way after your discussion…but I just found the site
Great, soon we’ll have Socialized Medicine:
It will be as cheap as the War in Iraq,
as reliable as the Post Office,
as sensitive as the Prison System,
as unintrusive as the Tax System,
and as smart as George Dubua Bush.
If you think health care is expensive now, just wait ‘til it’s free. That’ll cost ya.
sclibertarian, i am the one who posted the bill. I copied that description from somewhere and although i am in support of the bill, you make a very valid point. Somebody has to write these summaries, so how can we prevent (or minimize) bias?
After reading through the extended bill summary, it looks like a good idea. I feel that we as a society have a responsibility to better ourselves as a whole. We are individual and dependent upon each other.
When I signed up for this website, it said democracy was in my hands. Then when I clicked on the “show related bill” link it directed me to some POS bias description about how the bill will solve the health care crisis in one fell swoop. The issue is a little more complicated than that and I hope that whoever posted that description of the bill will someday realise that everything has its pros AND cons. I cannot support this bill because whoever wrote its summary does not want me to make an informed decision.
